Oh what great anticipation comes with the last day of school! For my preschoolers, they weren’t so happy about it being summer break (they LOVE their teachers and going to school), but they were excited about giving their wonderful teachers the gifts they put together for them!
With big smiles on their faces, they proudly walked the hallway to their classrooms, hearing the compliments from the other passing moms, “Those are beautiful!” Their faces beamed even more radiantly as they handed each of their teachers their special gift and gladly accepted warm hugs in return! What did they give them? A colorful tin watering can filled with personalized pampering gifts!
The gift was simple to assemble, but filled with lots of love as the boys picked out each of the items to shower upon their teachers.
Here’s what we included:
- Small tin watering can ($3, found in the dollar section of Target)
- Starbucks Chilled Frappacino coffee drink (purchased in bulk at a wholesale store, these were $1 each)
- Kit Kat Bar
- Lip Balm with a flavor
- Nail Polish
- Hand Cream
- Natural-colored crinkle paper for filler on the bottom of the watering can
The boys picked out everything from the color of the watering cans to the color of nail polish for each teacher! Granted, I narrowed down nail colors and gave them 8 choices as options, but the boys knew exactly what colors best fit their teachers and I agree, based on the teacher’s clothing color preferences and personalities, the boys did an awesome job color matching!
They chose between Vanilla or Chocolate Frappacinos, plus scented lip balm and hand cream. And they excitedly packed all the goodies into the watering can. After we placed everything in the can, we talked about how each item related to their teacher. When I told the boys how the chilled frappacino was cool like their teacher, Connor threw his head back, laughed and agreed with a big head nod and his own, “Cool!” He was even the one who added that the nail polish would look beautiful like his teachers! Awwww!
After we put together the gift, we picked out ribbon together and I tied it onto the watering can while the boys watched anxiously. The gift was then completed with this Thank You Teacher Appreciation printable that each boy signed for their teacher. (Click on picture to open printable.)
As a mom, I am so thankful for the amazing women that are teaching, leading and loving my boys while they’re at preschool. Blessing them with a teacher appreciation gift is as much a thank you from me as it is from my child. My hope in showering them with pampering treats is to make them feel as loved and special as they have made my little guys feel.
How are you showering your child’s teacher with love and appreciation?
