This evening, we took our first family walk of 2014. It was lovely! The older two boys happily rode their bikes dodging the remaining piles of snow with Daddy’s help as I pushed our littlest guy in the stroller. The air was just crisp enough with a little breeze to make my eyes water, but it felt so nice to be outdoors again and to know that spring is just days away. My to-do project list is not yet completed (is it ever?) and my want-to-do list of activities grows every week as I read all the wonderful kid activities my blogging friends share. With the contagiousness of the fresh spring air, we’ll be headed outdoors more but we’ll have a plethora of activities for rainy days with all the inspiration we find on our Welcome Party Wednesday Link-Ups!

I would love to have a garden in our backyard and I have a great place in mind for it… it’s the only place in the entire yard that gets any sunlight, but its on a slope and is a poorly terraced mess of overgrown “stuff” the previous owners had “planted”. It’ll be lots of work, but I can’t wait! I’ll definitely be checking out all Vicki’s gardening posts for tips & tricks! This is even good for those looking to expand their gardens! AND… as a bonus feature, check out Peace but Not Quiet’s 5 Tips for Gardening with Kids to involve your little ones in the garden. They LOVE dirt and growing a garden is a good teaching tool too!
Kimberly from Being a Wordsmith did a great job putting together chore buckets with rewards for her 6-year old. She did it inexpensively and it’s cute! If you’re looking for ideas to get your little ones helping around the house more, this may be a good option for you!
Let’s get this week’s party started!
