Running… this is my running week. Not literally after my shin splints last week (although I did impress myself with a 12-minute mile pace on just my 3rd run). However, this is the week of running
kids around to their activities… swim lessons, Safetytown, and the doctor’s office, plus having 101 errands that need to be done. And everything that could possibly break or need fixed at our house has done it this week. I feel like I’m running in circles chasing my tail this week.
In the midst of it all though, we’ve actually gotten in more together time. How? With all the running and stressing I’ve been doing, I noticed I was yelling at my boys more. So instead of trying to get everything done, I took a step back and took time for them instead. Two different days we went to the pool for the afternoon. We’ve sat and read books more. These moments of quality time with my boys makes my heart happier and days better despite all the running. Plus, when I take time for them, they behave better and play nicer so I can actually catch a few more minutes to get my to-do list done.
So this week, if you find yourself running to catch up… slow down, forget about what has to be taken care of and remember the ones who need you to take care of them. It will all come together, my friend!

My boys and I went on a leaf hunt last fall with the intent of making leaf creatures, but our leaves dried out and we never got around to it. So I just had to share these fun and simple creatures from Dabbling Momma! I love the creativity!
